Hi, I'm Crystal.
I am currently an Interaction Design graduate intern at IDEO in New York, working on designing digital interfaces for clients. Last summer, I interned for the Microsoft Mixed Reality team as a product designer, working on designing experiences in AR and VR.
A graduate of the MFA in Interaction Design program at the School of Visual Arts, my journey actually began at Columbia University, where I studied Applied Mathematics. I now merge my analytical and creative halves to make meaningful products and experiences.
I recently …
finished my masters thesis, using Augmented Reality to teach abstract physics concepts to high school students. This project has received the Paula Rhodes Memorial Award, which honors Master's degree candidates at SVA whose work is deemed exceptional by their chair and faculty.
Outside of school, I worked as a NYC Media Lab Design Fellow with a graduate team and AP journalists to explore how to leverage AR to engage readers on health and science news.
I also volunteer my design skills for the organization VoteRunLead, which helps to empower and train women to run for political office.
For fun …
I am a big fan of Disney, Broadway shows, karaoke, and puzzles, and am always down for getting good desserts or going on an adventure! I also have an endless supply of dad jokes.
